Hartland Rotary’s 5th Cardboard Regatta
Hartland Rotary has begun to prepare for our Fifth Cardboard Regatta, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Waldenwoods. Waldenwoods will be open to the public 8 AM- 5 PM with proceeds from our major fund raiser being focused on local youth programs and other groups who help make Hartland a stronger community. Pancake and Sauage Breakfast starts at 8AM down near the beach.
For the second year we will feature a corn hole competition, along with select vendors who will be showing their wares next to our always popular silent auction tent. We are excited and appreciative of our local sponsors who help us with not only financial support, but also attend the event and participate in racing their cardboard boats on beautiful Lake Walden.
If your family or club would like to build a cardboard boat and join our race in July please check out our website: www.hartlandrotary.org for instructions on boat construction and how to enter our event. Our event features different age classes from youth to adults as well as small two man vessels to the "big" four-six man behemoths.
RYLA or Rotary Youth Leadership Awards took place at Camp Copneconic, Fenton, April 16-19. Over 150 high school students from District 6380 attended and experienced a weekend they will not soon forget. Our Rotary District includes Livingston, Washtenaw, Monroe, NW Oakland, Macomb Counties, and Districts in Canada including Tilbury, Chatham, and Ridgetown. Leadership is always the weekend's focus.
Visitors are always welcome to join us on Thursday mornings for breakfast and informative presentations at the Hartland Insurance Agency, 2532 Old US 23 at 7:30 AM. If you have a passion for community service and enjoy sharing the fellowship of those with a similar desire, please consider joining us.
Please visit www.hartlandrotary.org for more information on our club.
